Xiaomi: Mi Note 3 has a dual camera and a large display

Monday, September 11th, 2017 | Gadgets

Xiaomi has presented with the Mi Note 3 another new smartphone next to the Mi Mix 2. Unlike this, the Mi Note 3 is cheaper and offers a slightly less powerful hardware. In many details, the Mi Note 3 resembles Mi 6, but has a slightly less powerful processor and a larger display.

This is 5.5 inches in size and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels – unlike the Mi Mix 2, it comes in the traditional screen format 16: 9. Inside works Qualcomm's SoC Snapdragon 660, the memory is 6 GByte big. The built-in flash memory is optionally 64, 128 or 256 GB.
Same dual camera as in the Mi 6
The camera on the back corresponds to the Mi 6 and has two lenses. Both camera modules use a 12 megapixel sensor; one module has a wide-angle lens, the other has a focal length in the range of around 50 mm (converted to Kleinbild).
This allows users to use a dual optical zoom and, like other smartphones with such a dual camera system, make portrait shots with artificially generated blur in the background. The front camera has 16 megapixels.
The case is made of glass and has an aluminum frame. The not easily replaceable battery has a nominal charge of 3,500 mAh. The Mi Note 3 supports LTE and has an NFC chip in addition to a GPS receiver.

Price in China starts at 320 euros
The Mi Note 3 costs in the 64 GB version in China converted 320 euro. The version with 128 GB of flash memory costs converted 370 euros, for the 256-GB variant wants Xiaomi to have converted 383 euros. The smartphones will be officially not available again in Germany like the Mi Mix 2 and must be ordered via importer.
