X-E3: Fujifilm's new camera comes with long-lasting Bluetooth

Thursday, September 7th, 2017 | Gadgets

Fujifilm has introduced a new compact system camera with the X-E3.
The camera comes with the same X-Trans sensor in the APS-C format with 24.3 megapixels, as the X-T20 has. A touch screen on the back allows you to adjust a number of camera functions with your finger.

As the first camera in the X series, the X-E3 offers a permanent Bluetooth connection to a mobile device such as a smartphone or a tablet. This allows users to transfer each photo to the mobile device immediately after recording.

The display on the back has a diagonal of 3 inches and a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels. The monitor is not tiltable. With finger input, users can, among other things, select and focus the focus area or, as with a smartphone, press the shutter release button. When playing the recorded images, they can be simply wiped.
Touch screen and joystick
In addition to the touch screen, the X-E3 also has accustomed
Settings. On the top there are two aluminum dials: one for adjusting the exposure time, the other for exposure correction. An auto mode can be activated via its own switch; then the camera motifs itself should recognize and make appropriate settings.
In addition to the display, a 4-way joystick is installed. The menus can also be interfaced with this if the user does not want to use the touchscreen.
The CMOS III sensor is equipped with the image processing processor Xprocessor Pro. 0.4 seconds after switching on, the X-E3 should be ready for use. The triggering time should be 0.05 seconds. The camera should focus within 0.06 seconds.

4K videos with 30 fps
Videos can record the X-E3 in 4K with 30 fps. The built-in flash does not have the camera; this is included as a separate accessory. The X-E3 is 121.3 x 73.9 x 42.7 mm tall and weighs 337 grams without lens.
The X-E3 without lens costs 900 euros. With Fujinon 18-55mm f / 2.8-4R LM OIS the price for the camera is 1,300 euros. The X-E3 will be available from the end of September 2017 onwards.
