South Korean military goes from nuclear test North Korea

Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 | World News

North Korea has apparently tested an atomic weapon for the sixth time.

A quake of strength 5.6 had been measured in North Korea, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported on Sunday, citing military representatives. Shortly afterwards, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 was measured. According to the South Korean military, the earthquakes were not of natural origin. On the contrary, according to the agency, the South Korean military assumes that North Korea has carried out an atomic test.

Chinese expert data even spoke of an earthquake of 6.3, which is due to a "presumed explosion". Also the American earthquake wards reported on the earthquake on Sunday. It had measured the strength 5.6. Earlier earthquakes in the foreclosed land have been caused by atomic tests.

The state's North Korean news agency KCNA had reported hours earlier that North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un is inspecting the warhead of a hydrogen bomb. In January 2016 Pyongyang had declared that he had successfully tested a hydrogen bomb for the first time. Experts doubted at the time that the atomic test was actually a hydrogen bomb.
