Russian combat aircraft crashed

A Russian combat aircraft crashed in a training session south of Moscow. The two pilots were able to save themselves.

The pilots steered the Jak-130 aircraft before crashing towards an uninhabited area, according to the Interfax Agency's Ministry of Defense.

Search teams saved the pilots near the town of Borissoglebsk, some 600 kilometers from the Russian capital. The two men were not seriously injured, they said. What led to the crash was not yet known. According to initial investigations, engine damage is not ruled out.
