President speaks of strongest century earthquake

A heavy earthquake of magnitude 8.2 has occurred off the coast of Mexico. So far at least five dead people have been reported, even in the capital Mexico City the earth has been shaken. According to the responsible tsunami warning center, the quake caused smaller tsunami waves of up to 70 cm in height.

Mexico's President Enrique Peña Nieto spoke of a tremendous tremors, the strongest in Mexico since 1932. has announced rapid emergency action.
