Operating System: Apple Releases Goldmaster for iOS, tvOS and WatchOS

Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 | Gadgets

Apple has released several Goldmaster versions for its mobile devices as well as Apple TV. Apple iOS 11 (build 15A372), WatchOS 4 (build 15R372) and tvOS 11 (Build 15J381) are available in the development area. The equipment support has been somewhat limited, as expected. In the iPhone, the iPhone 5S, 6 and SE are the oldest devices still supported by iOS 11. In the iPad, the iPad Air 1 and the iPad Mini 2 mark the lower limit. The iPod touch of the 6th generation is also supported.

There are no restrictions for WatchOS 4 and tvOS 11. Devices that previously used WatchOS or tvOS can also use the new version. Both platforms are quite new anyway.
If there are no major problems with the Goldmasters, then the operating systems should be available as an over the air update for all supported devices in a week, ie on September 19, 2017.
For MacOS X High Sierra aka 10.13 the Goldmaster is still missing. However, a date for the final version is fixed: The Mac operating system is to be ready on 25 September 2017.
