The manufacturer Odroid complements its family of building machines with the two models HC1 and MC1. Both are based on an arm processor from Samsung, Exynos 5422, with eight cores. The processor is also used in Odroid's popular XU4 model. Unlike the XU4, however, the HC1 and MC1 include, among other things, the HDMI output, the USB 3 ports and GPIO pins. However, the Gigabit Ethernet connection and the USB 2 port remain intact. However, both models are not designed as universal computers.

The HC1, short for Home Cloud, provides a SATA interface for hard disks. The SATA interface is connected to the processor via a USB 3-to-SATA bridge (JMS539 data sheet). An aluminum frame is included. This serves as a mount for the circuit board and the hard disk. At the same time, the frame is also used as a passive cooler for the processor of the board. Several frames can be stacked one on top of the other.
The HC1 model is available from August 21, 2017 at Hardkernel for the price of 49 US dollars.

The second model MC1 ("My Cloud") does without the SATA connector itself, the platform is intended solely for computing tasks. This model also comes with an aluminum frame that also serves as a radiator.

Single it will give the MC1 but not to buy. Hardkernel wants to offer the model from September 2017 in a four-pack for the price of 200 US dollar. This includes a large USB fan, which is mounted on the back of the four stacked aluminum frames.
Hardkernel does not make any concrete statements about the software. Developers and administrators with knowledge of cluster software, the vendor wants to provide free of charge models for testing and adapting software.
