MX Ergo: Logitech brings new trackball with customizable ball

Thursday, September 7th, 2017 | Gadgets

Logitech introduced the Trackball MX Ergo. Unlike a mouse, the device is not pushed over the table, instead the user controls the mouse pointer over a fixed ball. The advantages of a trackball: Due to the lack of mouse movement, such a device requires less space, as well as less manual handling for the user.

According to Logitech, the MX Ergo muscle tension should be reduced. This is achieved by an adjustment of the set-up angle: The trackball can be tilted at an angle of 0 to 20 degrees. In this way, the trackball can be adapted to the user's hand.
Trackball in mouse form
The MX Ergo itself looks like a big mouse at first sight. The trackball sits on the left side and is operated with the thumb of the right hand. On the upper side there are two keys and a scroll wheel as usual from mice. The speed of the mouse pointer can be set directly via the trackball using the push button.

First new trackball for ten years
The MX Ergo supports Logitech Easy Switch, which allows users to use a device on multiple computers. The trackball is the first new model for nearly ten years. The MX Ergo is expected to cost 110 Euros, which will be available in September 2017.
