(cafetheology.org) – Premature kick-off for Marcel Schrötter at the Czech Grand Prix: On Saturday, the German announced that he will not compete with the other training sessions in Brno and the race on Sunday. The reason was a two-week bruise fracture on the left hand, which had already affected the Suter pilots on Friday. After the first two training sessions, he was only on the 26th rank. Now, Schrötter decided not to take any further health risks – especially since a run with the injury would not have made much sense anyway. Instead, the 24-year-old follows the advice of the doctors and wants to be presented next Monday in the Schreiber-Klinik in Munich by Handchirurg Dr. med. Klaus-Dieter Werber. After finishing the break, the company will be discussing the next course of action. It was almost a week ago that Schrötter had joined the eight-hour race in Suzuka. There the injury affects him less than imagined. The confidence that the scabbard fracture would also be able to put away in Brno was correspondingly large. However, Schrötter already announced on Friday: "With the bike, in this class and with this injury, it does not work like last week in Suzuka." "In Japan there were other bikes, different loads and we could still ride along. In the Moto2 one is on a higher level. Apparently the injury hinders me more than expected, "explains the German. Still, he wanted to try it under pain. But 2.1 seconds behind the top showed that Schrötter in Brno can not keep up with his powers. The 24-year-old had hoped to be able to be operated on the weekend. However, surgery is only possible on Monday. Nevertheless, it was the right decision to omit Brno. "We've got a few races this year, but if you're a handicap in this class, it's only a few tenths, but if I'm too slow for a second, it's no good ", Says Schrötter.
