Logitech G603: Kabellose gaming mouse to last 500 hours

Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 | Gadgets

Logitech has presented a new sensor for wireless gaming mice at the IFA 2017 in Berlin and behind closed doors at the Gamescom in Cologne, which should offer a particularly long battery life. This is necessary, because with models such as the G900 and the G403, the problem of lag and other connection difficulties with the wireless playing is as good as solved. Only: The two rodents also hold for about 25 to 30 hours because of the elaborate technique.

The new G603 with the Logitech almost completely developed sensor is to create about 500 hours. In the low-resolution, low-data transfer mode, there should be 18 months. The G603 is supplied with batteries (type AA) instead of a built-in rechargeable battery, but of course rechargeable batteries can also be used.
The other specifications correspond largely to the already longer available G703, in which a PMW3366 sensor is installed. Both versions are clear with resolutions of 200 to 12,000 dpi, both have the same acceleration and speed values, both process and transmit the signals without internal compression or smoothing.
The charging gamepad Powerplay does not support the new G603 – but this is probably due to the new sensor is hardly necessary. As Logitech engineers have said, the new Hero technology should be so economical because the AD converter and the logic backend have been developed from scratch; Only the infrared LED still comes from a supplier.

Mouse pad for almost the whole desk
In addition to the G603, Logitech has announced the new, particularly large G840 mouse with the dimensions 40 by 90 centimeters and a mechanical wireless keyboard with the model designation G613. The keyboard uses the in-house Romer-G switches and has a stop distance of 1.5 millimeters and a triggering force of 45 grams.
The Logitech G603 gaming mouse and the G613 keyboard are now available at Logitech, the mouse pad will be available later in September 2017. The mouse costs around 80 euros, the keyboard is available for 150 euros, and the mouse pad is 50 euros. Later the products will also be available in the rest of the trade.
