Ku Klux Klan – racism under white hoods

Sunday, August 13th, 2017 | World News

The racist Ku Klux Klan was founded in its original form in 1865 in the US state of Tennessee. With the murder of African Americans and assassinations on politicians, the secret society fought against the abolition of slavery.

During nightly raids members wore white hoods with hoods and spread fear and terror with burning crosses. In 1882, the organization was declared unconstitutional and dissolved.

More than 100 years ago – in 1915 – the new company was founded at Atlanta (Georgia). The Klan is said to have counted four million members by 1925. Under the name of "Knights of the Great Forest", he went against people of other skin color and religious minorities. In 1944, the Confederation was again dissolved, this time because of tax fraud. However, he resumed his activities after only a few years.

After clearing the racial segregation in the 1960er years the clan again received supply. Several people were killed in the murders and bomb explosions of his activists on the black civil rights movement. Since the 1990s, the Klan has specifically targeted black church communities.

According to estimates, the Ku Klux Klan in the US today counts up to 8,000 members in several independent groups that appear under his name. They made contacts with right-wing extremists abroad. The "European White Knights of the Burning Cross" are also regarded as an offshoot in Germany.
