Jimmy Carter criticizes Donald Trump for North Korea

Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 | World News

Former US President Jimmy Carter criticizes the North Korean policy of President-in-Office Donald Trump. "I would immediately send my top person to Pyongyang if I did not go myself," he told hundreds of followers.

The North Koreans wanted a guarantee not to be attacked as long as the country did not attack either the United States or an ally like South Korea. "Until we talk to them and treat them with respect, I do not believe we will make progress," said Carter at the Carter Center in Atlanta.

The ex-president and Nobel Peace Prize laureate has already visited the Communist dictatorship three times. Subsequent governments, however, refused to deal with the regime. The 92-year-old was US president from 1977 to 1981. He is named after George H.W. Bush is the oldest still living ex-US president.

Looking at the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis, Carter showed himself hopelessly that Trump could mediate in the Middle East. He said that the Palestinians would not be doing justice to the Palestinians. He criticized the leadership of both sides for lack of flexibility. Carter particularly complained that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not want a two-way solution.

The system in the US described Carter as something that is currently more oligarchy than democracy. Trump should maintain peace, promote human rights, and speak the truth.
