Inspiron 5675 test: Dell's Ryzen gaming PC reaches at least to 2020

Friday, September 8th, 2017 | Gadgets

On the one hand, the new Inspiron 5675 from Dell looks like a classic business desktop, as well as an adequate gaming PC. The design reflects the diagonal separation line. The upper part looks unobtrusive, almost dull and drab. The lower part has diagonal air slots and from the inside it lights up blue. It seems almost as if you had a complete business computer and a game PC with a samurai sword cleanly severed and then completely glued together. As our comments in the announcement have shown: About the design one can argue. We got used to it in the test.

The new desktops of the 5675 series are a big step for AMD. The complete PCs are based on Ryzen CPUs and are equipped with Geforce or Radeon graphics cards. AMD has long since been back on the market with one of its processors in the high-end lineup of the big three of Dell, Lenovo and HP. The Inspiron Gaming Desktop can be configured in a variety of configurations, the smallest configuration is 680 euros without a dedicated GPU. We have the 1,380 euros most expensive configuration.
As processor the Ryzen 7 1700X from AMD (here our test with benchmarks) is used. The graphics card is a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of memory (here our test with benchmarks). The system offers 16 GB of DDR4 memory, which are placed on a latch and clocked at 2,400 MHz. In addition to a classic 1-TByte-sized magnetic disk (Seagate Barracuda, 7,200 rpm), this operating system is preinstalled Windows 10 on an M.2 SSD (SK Hynic SC311), which holds 256 GB of data. The SSD has only one SATA-6-Gbit / s interface, no PCIe with NVMe. As a power supply, Dell installed the in-house 460-watt variant with 80-plus bronze certification.

Excellent connection diversity
Symmetrically and clearly, Dell designed the connections. At the front are shafts for a slim drive and a vacant regular shaft for expansion. These include a 3.5 mm headphone output, a USB 3 Type C connector (3.1 Gen1), two USB A 2.0 and USB 2.0 type A connectors each, one with fast- Charging. On the far right is a high-speed SD card reader.
Also the back is more clear than with most modern motherboards of MSI, Asus or Gigabyte. All six USB ports, four of which are USB-3, are close together and there is the possibility to connect mouse and keyboard via PS / 2 ports. The GeForce GTX 1060 has two HDMI 2.0b and display port 1.3 outputs, and, of course, we also find the Ethernet port and the possibility to cable more complex sound systems.
