Hyperloop Global Challenge: Hyperloop One honors the ten best track concepts

No hyperloop in Germany: The US company Hyperloop One has presented the winners of its competition for the new means of transport. A route here is not included.

In the context of the Global Challenge which Hyperloop One had called last year, cities and regions were able to submit proposals for possible routes. Ten designs has distinguished Hyperloop One.
Four routes in the USA are among the winners
Best has cut off North America. Six designs were selected from the region: four from the USA and one from Canada and Mexico. Europe is represented twice: both designs come from the UK. Finally, the judges selected two projects from India.

The first of the four possible US routes runs from Chicago via Columbus to Pittsburgh. The second connects several cities in the US state of Texas. In the center is San Antonio. There are three branches together: one to Laredo, one to Houston and the third to Austin. The third draft provides a hyperloop route from Miami to Orlando in the US state of Florida.

A feasibility study will be conducted in Colorado
The fourth stretch has the shape of a lying T and is to connect different cities in the US state of Colorado among themselves and with Pueblo in Wyoming. For this design, a feasibility study is planned to be carried out by the Colorado Department of Transportation and the technology company Aecom.

The Canadian draft provides for a route from Montreal via Ottawa to Toronto. The Mexican hyperloop is supposed to be from the capital city Mexico in an arc over Querétaro and León
to Guadalajara.
The hyperloop could come to Scotland
If Europe is haggarded, then probably in Scotland, where the two award-winning designs from the UK begin. The one route starts in Glasgow and leads via Edinburgh, Newcastle and Leeds to the two industrial cities of Manchester and Liverpool. The other connects Edinburgh and London, with stops in Manchester and Birmingham.

The routes selected from India have both Chennai on the east coast as the starting point. The shorter runs in a slight S-curve and ends in Bengaluru. The longer has a slightly different route to Bengaluru and leads from there to Mumbai on the west coast.
The competition was attended by 2,600 teams
More than 2,600 designs from 100 countries were submitted for the Global Challenge. Earlier this year, Hyperloop presents the best designs of the different continents. One of the best European concepts was one from Germany. The judges selected the entries from the submissions to enter the final round. In the semifinals twelve were eliminated, in the final eleven – including the German draft.

Hyperloop is a means of transportation, the concept of SpaceX boss Elon Musk. The Hyperloop moves in a tube which is largely airless and uses magnetic levitation technology. Because air resistance and friction are greatly reduced, the hyperloop is to reach a speed of 1,200 kilometers an hour. Hyperloop is one of several companies that is working on the implementation of Musks' open source concept. The company Hyperloop One has built up a test tube at Las Vegas and carried out the first test drives with a capsule in early August.
