Huge greasy clogged up in London sewers

Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 | World News

A monstrous greigeberg clogs a sewer in the middle of London. The lump is 250 meters long and weighs 130 tonnes – equivalent to the weight of more than ten double decker buses.

It consists mainly of diapers, wiping cloths and hard cooking oil. The water supply company Thames Water called on Twitter to find a name for the Fettberg. First proposals came promptly, including "Brexit", "Trump" and "Donald".

Matt Rimmer of Thames Water spoke of a "total monster". "This Fettberg is one of the largest we have ever seen." It will take three weeks before the unappetizing structure is removed and disposed of properly. The company called for a notification not to throw garbage into the toilet, and to let the hot grease and oil cool down and then to dispose of it in trash cans.

Museum would like to acquire huge Fettberg
According to the Museum of London, the Museum of London has expressed interest in acquiring a portion of the 130-tonne broth. On Wednesday, museum director Sharon Ament said that "to raise questions about how we live today and inspire our visitors to think about solutions to the problems of growing metropolises". It is not yet decided how the good play will be presented.
