Gauland wants to "dispose" of Özoguz – AfD is the controversial statement

Monday, August 28th, 2017 | World News

The top candidate of the AfD, Alexander Gauland, calls for a speech to "dispose" the integration commissioners of the federal government. Despite his strong criticism, his co-candidate is behind him.

The statement of Gauland about the SPD vice-chairman Aydan Özoguz would fall at the weekend at an election campaign in the Thuringian town of Eichsfeld. The AfD top candidate took an interview from Özoguz, in which she had said that a specifically German culture was not to be identified – beyond the language.

"Dispose of in Anatolia"
"This is what a german-turkish girl says, invite her to Eichsfeld, and then tell her what specific German culture is," Gauland exclaimed to his listeners, according to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. "After that, she will never come here again, and we will be able to dispose of her in Anatolia, thank God."

On Monday, Gauland informed him that he was still sticking to his statement. One of the politicians said that the sentence had fallen ", and he also stands". The co-top candidate of the AfD for the Bundestagswahl, Alice Weidel, said in the ZDF "Morgenmagazin": "The choice of words is a matter of taste, I would not choose this way." On the other hand, her party colleagues were right.

Schulz criticizes "disgraceful derailment"
Gauland, on the other hand, opposed violent criticism from the SPD. While Özoguz did not want to comment on the incident, Chancellor candidate Martin Schulz on Twitter violently with the AfD deputy to the court. "The derailment of Gauland against Özoğuz is disgusting," he wrote. "We have to do everything we can to ensure that such racists do not come to the Bundestag!"

SPD General Secretary Hubertus Heil called Gauland in a tweet a "right-wing". Özcan Mutlu, the Green Bundestag, also said: "This is pure racism," he said.
