(cafetheology.org) – The tension before the start to the Grand Prix of Singapore was pretty much in the air – in the form of rain. A premiere at a Formula 1 night race. Sebastian Vettel started his pole position with his Ferrari on the 5,073-kilometer-long Marina Bay Street Circuit, while title rivals Lewis Hamilton was only on the fifth place. But after just a few seconds, the spoils were unloaded, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Rikknen and Max Verstappen in the end. Laughing was Lewis Hamilton, who could not be stopped by three safety car phases and the seventh season of the season in the 14th. of 20 seasons races. The Mercedes driver thus set the world championship lead on Vettel by a whopping 25 points to 28 points. Daniel Ricciardo took second place in the Red Bull ahead of Valtteri Bottas in the second Mercedes. Wm-Zhler also finished fourth in the Renault Toro Rosso, with Force India driver Sergio Perez, Jolyon Palmer (Renault), Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren ), Lance Stroll (Williams), Romain Grosjean (Haas), Esteban Ocon (Force India), Esteban Ocon (Force India), Felipe Massa (Williams) and Pascal Wehrlein (Sauber). For the start, the first drivers from Vettel to Bottas for Intermediates decided. Behind them were Hlkenberg, Alonso and Vandoorne on rain tires. Behind it was a mix of intermediates and rainbows, with a slight majority for the rain tire. On the start, it crashed at the top. Rikknen got the best start in the top three, struggled to the left beside Stappen, who again had Vettel beside him, who moved to the left before the first turn. Rikknen touched the stairs slightly, turned around and met his team colleague Vettel on the left side of the car. While Vettel was able to keep up and keep the lead, the turning rikknes in the following link curve staggered – for both drivers the race had run with it. Alonso was also visibly struck hard, but his pace in the McLaren was surprisingly slow, but he was able to continue with a slow ride. Team colleague Vettel was able to continue his journey with a visibly damaged car, but then turned right in front of Hamilton and touched the front crash barriers. The German had to stop a few meters later his now heavily damaged car (nose off, cooler with running liquid). The race management will be looking at the incident after the race. The race management sent the safety car to the end of the track: the order behind the safety car: Hamilton after a strong start before Ricciardo, Hlkenberg, Perez, Bottas, Palmer, Vandoorne, Ocon, Sainz and Magnussen in tenth place. In the second round, the race was released again by the race management. The rain fell, the driver's hour had come to intermediates as the course started to dry.
