Dead on plane crash are no Germans

Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 | World News

Four people were killed in the crash of a small aircraft on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica. The victims were French, reported the prosecutor in Bastia. It thus contradicted media information, which is about Germans.

The disaster had occurred near the village of Ghisonaccia in the east of the island, the Haute-Corse prefecture reported. The victims are two couples, two men and two women, according to the prosecutor.

One of the victims – an entrepreneur from eastern Strasbourg – was an experienced pilot, reported the regional newspaper "Corse-Matin" on their website. According to an eyewitness, the aircraft had fallen about 800 meters from the runway at the local airport like a stone in a vineyard.

According to information from AFP came the airplane from the southern Cannes. The background of the disaster remained open at first.
