Android 8.0: Oneplus Three gets first beta version of Oreo

Friday, September 8th, 2017 | Gadgets

For his Smartphone Oneplus Three, Oneplus has distributed a first beta version of Android 8.0 aka Oreo. This is reported by Android Police. The version is not yet publicly available but is distributed within the closed beta group.

Public Beta could already be released by the end of September
Android Police also wants to have learned from a tip-maker that soon for the Oneplus 3T and the Oneplus Five first beta versions of Oreo are to appear. A public beta may be published in September 2017 for all interested users. The current version can only be downloaded by users who are members of the closed beta group.
This also seems quite good: The first Oreo version is still some flaws. For example, the NFC support should not work, and the WLAN should not work reliably. The hotspot function is accordingly also not reliable, also with Bluetooth connections there should be problems.

As Android Police writes, Oneplus points out these dangers to its users in the closed group. In this respect, it is sensible to make the upgrade accessible only to a small user group, which may be more experimental. As an operating system for daily use, the betaversion of Oreo does not appear to be suitable.
So far, HMD Global has announced an Oreo upgrade for all its Nokia smartphones. However, the Finnish manufacturer did not mention a timetable.
