(cafetheology.org) – Although it was certain on the outskirts of the Singapore Grand Prix that McLaren will drive in the Formula 1 season 2018 with drives from Renault instead of Honda, Fernando Alonso would not yet ber to negotiate a new contract. "Firstly, there were already too many announcements this weekend," says the Spaniard, winking, "secondly, we concentrated on this race because it is one of the few remaining opportunities to score points." Heit: Alonso wants to do everything the little motorpower-requiring railway in Singapore a success experience to celebrate. "I think it's important to have the best possible results," he says. That is why, on the Sunday before the race, he would prefer to study videos from the most recent take-offs on the city course instead of discussing what he does in a few months' time. "To attack tomorrow and lead the race in the first stint," he insists. "Just as I did in my career over the past 13 years. Back to normal." The ex-world champion also makes it clear that he had not yet made a decision. "It's too far ahead," he signals to a possible stay at McLaren. This is not going to change despite a breakfast with McLaren boss Zak Brown in Singapore. Next week, Alonso flies to the UK, but will be at the Kart World Championship and work in the simulator. "There are better times to discuss the future," says Alonso, who had announced a decision about 2018 in September.
