AfD at ten per cent, losing SPD and union

Friday, August 25th, 2017 | World News

Four weeks before the Bundestag elections, the Union and the SPD lost their approval after the new ARD "Deutschlandtrend". As a result, the Union lost a percentage point to 38 per cent compared to the August 9 poll, and the SPD two per cent to 22 per cent. The AfD, on the other hand, increased to 10 percent (plus two points). The FDP won a point to 9 percent. The Left and Greens remained at 9 and 8 per cent, respectively

The respondents to the "Deutschlandtrends" published on Friday differed very widely from the most urgent political tasks of the next federal government. Twelve per cent felt that the new government was primarily concerned with the clarification of immigration issues, the redefinition of asylum seekers and the creation of an immigration law.

Nine percent thought it was important to reduce the gap between rich and poor, introduce a tax on wealth, and combat social injustice and poverty. For seven per cent, domestic security with the fight against terrorism and crime was therefore a priority.
