Gigabyte has introduced a new version of the Aero 14. The 14-inch notebook is aimed at players as well as generally users who need high performance on the road. Compared to the direct predecessor the manufacturer has only slightly revised the device, but in two relevant points.

The notebook measures 335 x 250 x 20 mm and is a bit thicker than the Razer Blade – but weighs 1.89 kg a little less. Gigabyte installed a matte 1440p60 display and IPS technology without touch support. In the test of last year's Aero 14, we only achieved an average brightness of 265 candelas per square meter, colors seemed pale.
Just another GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
The CPU is a core i7-7700HQ (Kaby Lake) with four cores and hypertheading, as well as up to 32 GB of DDR4-2400 memory in SO-DIMM design and two NVMe- SSDs in the M.2 card format with a total capacity of 1 TB. Instead of the previous Geforce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of video memory, there is only a noticeably slower GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB.

Inside is a very large battery with 94 watt hours, the Razer Blade has only 70 watt hours. The Aero 14 is loaded with a 150-watt power supply, which has a USB port for the smartphone. It has three USB 3.0 Type A connectors, an SD card reader, Mini Displayport 1.2, HDMI 2.0 and an eyelet for a Kensington lock. Instead of USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C there is Thunderbolt 3 for data and display.
As usual, Gigabyte sold the Aero 14 in green, orange and black. The configuration with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD costs 1,700 Euro.
